CONTINUOUS DETERMINATION OF POTASSIUM, SODIUM, CALCIUM, MAGNESIUM IN MARINE SEDIMENTS (AAS)
Abstract:
A rapid atomic absorption spectrophotometric (AAS) method for the continuous determination of K, Na, Ca, Mg in marine sediments is described. After hydrochloric acid, hydrofluric acid and perchloric acid digestion, strontium chloride is added as a releasing agent and all elements are analysed. AAS accuracy and precision for the elements studied is generally better. The proposed AAS method is essentially a time-saving one and it has been applied in the study of sediment geochemistry of East China Sea.
