THE DISTRIBUTION CHARACTERISTIC OF DISSOLVED OXYGEN IN THE COASTAL UPWELLING OF CHEKIANG

Abstract:

This paper outlines the distribution of dissolved oxygen in the coastal water of Chekiang in the summer of 1980, and indicates that there is an area containing small concentration of dissolved oxygen. The saturation of dissolved oxygen in the surface water is about 90%, and is about 20% lower than the nearby areas. The area is of high salinity and low temperature It is concluded that there is a strong upwelling in the area of 28°-29°15’N and west of 122°45’ E.
