| Abstract: |
| A seedling raising ground for trepang was built in 1979 in Sang island, Huangxian County, and satisfactory results have been gained for the last three years. When sea water temperature rises to 18-19℃ in June every year, 2-3 years parent trepangs are caught by divers to obtain zygotes by shade drying with increasing temperatures. In about 30 hr., the zygotes develope into ear-shaped larva. Feeding begins at this time. Different foods are given according to different stages of their developments. Larva are released into the sea at the size of 1-2 cm. More than 300 thousand larva were released in 1980 and 1981 respectively. Statistics shows that the number of adult trepang within the raising ground is six times more than elsewhere. Raising effects are evident. |
