Abstract:
Based on the historical observed temperature profiles data, a static climate temperature field were established by the strict screening and interpolation. Then the regression analysis was used to build an empirical regression model in order to invert temperature profiles by SST (sea surface temperature) anomaly and SSH (sea surface height) anomaly, and a three-dimensional temperature field was expanded in the northern of the South China Sea by remote satellite SST and SSH, whose temporal resolution is daily and spatial resolution is 0.25°×0.25°. Compared with the observational data, the expanded temperature field can accurately reflect the structure of the temperature profiles and well describe some mesoscale variability in the northern of South China Sea. The results showed that the expanded temperature field is reliable and it can be used as the initial field of the numerical model to realize the complementarity between observed data and satellite data, which is helpful to better analyze the three-dimensional structure and variation characteristics of the temperature in the northern of the South China Sea.
